I was expecting it unfinished, but that was my mistake in not reading the description fully. But the finish on this is light and very nice. I bought it to match two end tables with same style legs, and they match nicely. I had to send the first one back as it came damaged. Shipping box was torn apart and edges of table damaged, but return ofitem was very easy and at no cost to me. Just had to print off label and drop off box at shipping store. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful  Good value!, November 9, 2012 This review is from: International Concepts T01-3048 30 by 48-Inch Solid Wood Top Table, Natural (Kitchen) The table arrived quickly and in good condition; all of the nuts, bolts and wrench were in the package. It took only a few minutes to assemble, and is quite sturdy. The table-top looks like butcher-block in oak, though probably not. The finish looks great and not that awful factory finish that cannot be removed or easily repaired. I purchased this as an extra table for my dining room. It's perfect - my grandkids love to do their craft projects on it!
